In this video: the shift catalogue, the piece everything else hangs from.
A shift isn't a loose start time and end time. It's a block with a code, a time window, paid hours and the days it can be used on. This venue works with four. The code is what you see on the schedule. An A is an opening, a D is a close. The supervisor reads the month at a glance without having to remember times, and so does the team. The hours already have the unpaid meal break deducted, because that's what actually gets paid. That number is the one that later runs up against the contract's cap.
And if you don't know what shifts you should have, Batuta can design them: it takes your coverage and your staff, and proposes the catalogue that covers them with the fewest paid hours.
